It has been generally accepted that the presence of a sun line in a palm is a general indication of success and happiness. But what is the benchmark of success or happiness? The benchmark may be different for different person and situation.
Let us take a simple analogy. To a poor man a gain in $100 would be considered a mark of success or happiness to him. But to a millionaire his measure of success might be a gain of $100! So everything is relative.
In view of this how we interprete the sunline will be dependent on the client and situation and the different benchmark used

LIFELINE AND LONGEVITY
There was a very interesting paper published in Journal of Royal Society of Medicine Vol 83 (8) 1998 pp 499 written by Newrick Affie and Corrall on the relationship between lifeline and longevity. In the summary of their research paper they state:
"The relationship between length of lifeline and age at death has been evaluated in 100 consecutive autopsies. A highly significant association between the two was discovered which was strengthened further when hand size was controlled for. We feel that a powerful new prognostic sign may thus be within grasp."
